Gone To The Dogs
Spent a lovely evening over lasagne, Shortland Street and Friends with Shirley, Mike and Bonnie. Topics, as usual, were varied. The evening started off with the ethics of domesticating dogs as house-pets. As usual Shirley and Bonnie, our two animal lovers, argued vehemently for having dogs as pets. Mike - who may quite possibly be more afraid of dogs than I am, argued against with some conviction. Though I suspect his strong dislike of dogs probably had a greater part to play than any interest he may have in canine rights...

Delightfully Mundane
- My hair turned out great this morning. I washed it last night before bed, and this morning I combed some anti-frizz serum through it, sprayed it with anti-frizz spray and combed it until the waves were all nice and glossy and then hair-sprayed the entire thing. The result was lovely, shiny black, bouncy curls!
- I decided to team my unusually gorgeous (I say 'unusually' because my hair is usually a nightmare) hair with a plain white t-shirt, an army-green flared mini-skirt that I bought at Mango in Beijing, a long black cardigan, a black and silver butterfly cummerbund belt, a new pair of tummy-flattening and leg-toning black tights, and black patent kitten heels (with ingeniously hidden sneaker bottoms for added comfort when walking!).
- Criminal Law was lots of fun. Shirley and Nina were delightfully sociable, we walked to class together and sat together.
- After dinner, Shirley and I hung out for the first time in what seems like ages - for about 2 hours (when I really should have been working on my essay), at which point Mike joined us and we hung out for about another hour. Topics ranged from what makes a guy attractive to how snakes could get on a plane.

"He makes Monday mornings feel like Friday evenings"
- The Boy met me at 7.30 so we could have breakfast together. We've started a new tradition of having McDonald's for breakfast on Monday mornings. I had a sausage and egg mcmuffin and he had a bacon and egg mcmuffin, and we had a hash brown each. He makes Monday mornings feel like Friday evenings!
- Every Monday morning I endure a three-hour bus ride from my parents' place to the city where I live. Usually this ride is mind-numbingly boring. Today however, I ran into one of the few non-Law friends I have at University on the bus, and we chatted the whole way. He was intelligent and extremely entertaining, and made the ride infinitely better than usual.
- I made small-talk with a girl in one of my lectures (I asked her where the nearest Starbucks was!!).
- I aimed to write 300 words towards my 1,200 word essay on the Chinese film 'Farewell My Concubine' by celebrated 5th Generation director Chen Kaige. I ended up writing nearly 600!
- I spent a good hour chatting with a friend who happens to work at one of the top law firms in the country. We talked about books and politics and managed to enlighten each other greatly. He initiated the conversation, and seemed to very much enjoy talking to me.
- I replied to the text that The Lawyer sent me. I could not care less whether or not he texts back.
